Why niche industries

Most industries run on a combination of spreadsheets, text messages, and institutional memory. The generic tools available to them were designed for a software company’s sales team and then sold sideways into a trade where they do not fit. The result is that a forestry mulching contractor and an ICF installer end up using the same CRM as a SaaS startup, and none of them are well served.

We think the opposite approach works better: pick one industry, learn it properly, and build something shaped exactly like the work.

Why AI, specifically

The parts of these jobs that take the most time are rarely the skilled parts. They are the takeoffs, the data entry, the re-typing of a quote into three different systems, the reading of a forty-page plan set to find one dimension. That work is now genuinely automatable, and automating it gives people their evenings back. That is where we point the technology.

Labs and consulting

The labs half of the company builds and operates our own products. The consulting half works directly with operators and businesses who understand their industry deeply and want that expertise turned into software. Both halves feed each other — the consulting work is where we find the next product, and the products are where we prove the approach.
